Join us on January 3rd 2025 for a concert featuring the festivals directors and get a preview of CMI!

We’re excited to be holding our first CMI event! Directors Sophie Reimer-Epp and River Sawchyn will be joined by acclaimed pianist and new music expert Everett Hopfner to present music by Eckhardt-Gramatté, Colreidge-Taylor Perkinson, Karen Tanaka, Mark O’Connor, Ravel and a premier of a new sonata for violin and piano by River Sawchyn.

This 50 minute program will be followed by refreshments.

Contemporary Music Interactive (CMI) is a concert series in Winnipeg dedicated to showcasing new chamber music by emerging Manitoban composers.

Set for May 2025, CMI offers a unique blend of performance and presentation, providing audiences with a deeper understanding of the creative process behind contemporary compositions.

The inaugural season of CMI will take place on May 23 and 25, 2025 at the Canadian Mennonite University’s Laudamus Auditorium
